Greetings from the Ocean State!
Lest anyone fail to recognize a trend developing, the last three Division I
hockey coach appointees all have roots at Brown University:
STAN MOORE (SUNY-Oswego '78), recently selected as Head Coach at
Union College, served as an assistant coach under Herb Hammond at Brown
from 1986-88;
SCOTT BOREK (Dartmouth '85), recently promoted to Head Coach at
Lake Superior State University, was an assistant to Bob Gaudet at Brown
from 1988-92; and
BRIAN DUROCHER (Boston University '79), recently named Associate
Head Coach at his alma mater, was Bob Gaudet's assistant at Brown from
1992-96.
O.K., so Brown is not yet endangering Miami U's claim as the 'Cradle of
Coaches', but the above listing speaks exceedingly well for the quality
people involved with the Bear Hockey program.
