This type of occurance makes me LOVE international hockey all
the more. I like refs calling penalties regardless of the situation.
Both calls in the USA - France and the USA - Canada games in the last 2
and 1 minutes as the case may be were correct calls. The officials are
consistant so the players should know (if they have common sense they will
know) that if they do something illegal, they will be penalized. Call
everything, all of the time (within reason of course). Saying within
reason will cause problems I know, but in my book( no it has not been
published) if the infraction interferes with play, call it. Players will
be penalized a lot at first, but they will learn, or they will spend a lot
of time in the box, then on the bench, then in the stands.
Just my opinion, and I love international refs( did I mention
that) They have gall(sp?)
