Who funds this? My tuition? My tax dollars? And the big devil's advocate
question:
Why does a division I athlete deserve any more academic assistance than
any other given student...?

It wouldn't surprise me that most 'Bama alumni don't know they have a
campus in Huntsville. There are only two seasons down here that I have
encountered: Summer (long, Hot and muggy) and Football season. The
media barely even covers baseball during the playoffs, let alone the
regular season. If the playoffs weren't nationally televised, the most
you'd see would be the box score. And HOCKEY? Sometimes the standings
are published in the Sunday paper (just the PRO standings).
During the Stanley Cup last year, we searched this town clean over to
(we are in Montgomery) find someone who had satellite service that could
receive a more northerly SportsChannel region. We found two places. At
one, we were voted down in favor of basketball - but the other was very
amused by us Yankees and allowed us to indulge our whim.

This list is such a breath of fresh air!
