Clay, that was the infamous 1999 regional game that's come to be known
as "And Then Red Called Time-out". Michigan had one shot in the first
period. Denver had one shot after the midpoint of the game.

Denver, led by captain and future NHLer Paul Comrie, was leading 3-0 at
the midpoint of the second period and Michigan was noticably absent from
anything happening on the East Coast. Up to that point, the only thing
interesting about Michigan showing up was that fans got to watch senior
captain Paul take face-offs against his freshman brother and future
NHLer Mike, who, according to some rumors, had been advised by Paul to
pick some school besides Denver. The game was looking like an obvious
Denver blow-out.

And then Red Berenson called time-out. Denver's next and only other
shot on goal came with 25 seconds left in the game, after freshman Mike
took the puck the length of the ice to seal Michigan's 5-3 win. That
game and Michigan's 5-3 win over #2 Denver in Yost in the 2002 regional
give Pioneer fans all the justification they need to want revenge.
