Union has now started the season at 0-4 after dropping the second game
of their home-opening weekend series to Bowling Green. Union couldn't
figure out how to beat BG's Jordan Sigalet, though they came close a
few times in the third period. The big problem much of the night for
Union was their inability to break out of the defensive zone cleanly.
The bright spot for Union was the excellent debut of freshman
goaltender Justin Mrazek. He showed a quick glove all night. The
only goal he allowed came when the Dutchmen defense completely left
him on his own when Jonathan Matsumoto made his way to the front of
the net all alone and was able to beat Mrazek. Kris Mayotte will have
some competition for playing time this season.

Union will try again next weekend for their first win of the season
when they host Mercyhurst and UMass-Lowell.
