    If you're talking the absolute, irrefutable longest wait, then.....

    Sad to say, the answer is: Brown University which played the first
intercollegiate game of ice hockey in the United States versus Harvard on
January 19, 1898.  The Bears won 6-0 that day, but have played in the NCAA
Frozen Four three times without winning the title.  The best finishes were
runner-up to Michigan in 1952 and conso winner over B. U. in 1976.

    Then again, the Crimson has only one national title to show for its 107
seasons of ice hockey.
