DANIS PITCHES SHUTOUT IN PRO DEBUT

2004 Hobey Baker Award finalist Yann Danis stopped 22 shots to earn a
shutout in his professional debut, helping Hamilton to a 3-0 win over
Toronto on Sunday evening.

Danis, 22, joined the Bulldogs on a tryout contract after signing with the
Montreal Canadiens last week. His collegiate career at Brown University
ended in the ECAC conference tournament on Mar. 22.

Danis played four seasons for the Brown Bears, earning numerous awards
during his career. In 2003-04, Danis appeared in 30 of Brown's 31 games,
posting a 15-11-4 record with a 1.81 goals against average (third in the
country), to go along with a .942 save percentage (second in the nation).

The 2004 Ivy League Player of the Year helped lead Brown to back-to-back
winning seasons (15-11-5) for the first time since 1995. Danis holds several
school and ECAC records, including career shutouts (13), shutouts in a
season (5), goals against average in a season (1.81), save percentage in a
season (.942), career wins (43), career save percentage (.930), and career
goals against average (2.20).

NOTE: The Hamilton Bulldogs, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens,
lists Chris Higgins (Yale) on its roster, and Brent Robinson (Brown '04) has
also signed a tryout contract with the team.
