Seems like the biggest risk is to fans sitting between the blue lines,
though. Typically, a d-man in the corner will try to slap the puck off
the glass to get it up ice. If it goes a little high, it sails into the
crowd. The initial view of the shot is obscured by the boards, and most
of the crowd is not expecting an incoming missile from that angle. My
impression is that this may be a little more common on the Olympic-sized
ice.
