Set on 3.2 acres of land and completed in 1995 after 2 1/2 years of
construction, the FleetCenter seats almost 18,000 when the Bruins hold court,
just under 19,000 for Celtics games and close to 20,000 when boxing or
wrestling rings go up. And unlike the Garden (which hosted the Boston Poultry
Show in 1942!), it's air- conditioned.
