> Unfortunately, the online version of the NCAA rules at
>
> http://www.nihoa.com/rulebook/

The current rules are online here:

http://www.ncaa.org/library/rules/2001_ice_hockey_rules_book.pdf

The Statisticians' Manual is also online at

http://www.ncaa.org/library/statistical/icehockey_stats_manual.pdf

The Statisticians' Manual makes no mention of games being called ties if a
regular season OT goes longer than 5 minutes. Section 3 (Statistics in
tiebreaker situations) only mentions shootouts. It explicitly states that a
shootout counts a tie for both teams, and that the game is to be reported as a
tie with a note indicating who won the shootout.

This would lead me to believe that the result of an overtime stands, no matter how long the OT goes.
