Other than the fact that A.V. is 25-30 miles from the other 2?? In all
seriousness, people living in Tonka or Edina would be quick to point out
which one they lived in, and if they follow hockey, which team. Edina is
actually a pretty old suburb (50 years anyway, maybe not Revolutionary days
like out east but that's a long enough time out here) One of my friends
works for 'Tonka schools, and I attended the section final game with him
this year against Eden Prairie. (These towns border on each other, for
those of you unfamiliar with MN geography) There was a large animosity
between EP fans and 'Tonka fans, and I'd say there were 4-5,000 people at
Mariucci for that one. This of course does not prove that these towns are
unique self-standing communities, because they are not. But there is a
difference between them and the people who live there realize these
differences.
