        Hello All,

    >Erik Biever came up with a great idea -- lets have a NCAA final in NEW
    >ORLEANS. Alabama-Huntsville or Nebraska-Omaha can be the sponsor. The
reason I
    >go to these things are 1) hockey, 2) party, and 3) people. This way New
    >Orleans will have all three.

Actually, that is a great idea! My wife and I lived for several
years in New Orleans. There is an ECHL team in New Orleans and Baton Rouge,
and the hockey following is stronger than one might think on first glance.
And, as mentioned, there would be PLENTY to do on non-game days. Also, I
don't feel it could be overstated that the benefit of spreading the game at
the college level around would far outweigh the inconvenience of the fans
from some of the more distant schools. The recent success of the NCAA
basketball tournament as a media event shows that this could work. (When I
was a kid, in the 70's, "March Madness" was NOT the spectacle that it is
today!!)

Anyway, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong......
