Boston College junior defenseman Mike Mottau (Avon, Mass.) earned the
Walter Brown Award for 1999, as announced in a press
release by the Gridiron Club of Boston.
 
The award is given annually to the best American-born college
hockey player in New England. This year, for the second time in its
47-year history, the Walter Brown award was bestowed upon two players
- Mottau and Providences Mike Omicioli.
