Yes, that's what happened.  The Gophers offered sloppy defense and shaky
goaltending to a St. Lawrence squad which happily reaped the benefits
thereof.  All six Saints goals were scored close to the net by players
who were unhampered or left entirely in the clear by Minnesota
defensemen.  Gopher goalie Adam Hauser, making his collegiate debut, let
in some soft shots but had little support from his teammates.   The
Gophers had plenty of shots, but most were from way outside.  The St.
Lawrence defense consistently guarded the slot and blocked shots.  The
Gophers made a fierce comeback attempt in the third period, scoring
twice to bring the score to 6-4, but they could get no further.  Leffler
had a excellent game, but that wasn't the whole story.
