My understanding of the California law is that it IS illegal to sell
tickets on the arena premises -- but it is not illegal to purchaqse or
sell (ala Murry's) tickets away from the venue. Naturally, most buyers
would be in close proximity of the arena, but across the street is close
enough. At least that is how my brother explained it to me after his
release from jail for scalping a concert ticket.
 
As far as as thinking selling tickets for more than the face value (i.e.
making a profit) being immoral, explain to me what is moral about the
price printed on the ticket? And if one person offers me $50 and another
person $25 for a $25 ticket, why is it moral to not sell to the former
and moral to sell to the latter? It is scarry what passes for morality
these days.
