In what the radio announcers called the most evenly played hockey game they
had seen, Mankato St. got a breakaway goal with 13 seconds left in overtime
to beat the Mavericks of UNO 3-2. There was a penalty shot early in the
game, but I have no clue who got it or if it was made or not. UNO got a PP
goal during one of those 20 second man advantages right after a 4v4, MSU was
shut out on the PP (I think)

And while this didn't have any affect on the OT goal (unless of course it
would have ended the game earlier), it sounded like UNO got a raw deal on an
OT penalty. UNO had a breakaway when their man was pulled down, no call,
then 2 seconds later Mankato St. was breaking out, and did draw a penalty on
UNO.

This was a goaltender's duel, as the attempted shot total had to be very
high for both teams, SOG were probably also very high but in favor of UNO.

Not sure who will be in goal for UNO tomorrow in the season finale, I was
hoping to see Jason mitchell in his usual Friday game, but since he played
tonight, we'll be seeing Sidoruk or Mcleod probably.

This ends UNO's chances to finish .500 at home. A win and a tie would have
had them at .500, but they came 13 seconds short of a tie. UNO still leads
the series 2-1-0.

UNO spoiled 2 seniors nights this year(Mankato St. and Maine). Will Mankato
St. return the favor on what would be UNO's senior night (except they have
no seniors).

Tomorrow's season finale will be televised in the Omaha area on O2TV(Cox
Cable Ch. 2), which I think is their 5th game of the season on TV.

More tomorrow from a shocked UNO fan,
Ben F.
U!N!O! U!N!O!
