A game misconduct means that the player sits out the rest of the game. A game
disqualification means that the player sits out the rest of that game AND his
team's next scheduled one. DQ penalties escalate; that is, the penalty gets
more severe if a player gets multiple DQ penalties in the same season. I'm not
sure if the progression is the same now or not, but in recent years, the rule
has been:

First DQ -- miss the next scheduled game
Second DQ (in the same season) -- miss the next TWO scheduled games
Third DQ -- miss the next THREE scheduled games
     etc.
