Has anybody else noticed that the two most recent teams to leave Div-I
hockey (Kent and UIC) are schools that are classified Div-I for all
sports, while two of the three teams that are frequently mentioned on
Hockey-L as considering moving to Div-I (Mankato and Nebraska-Omaha, but
not Niagara) are not classified as Div-I for other sports? I suspect
that this has a lot to do with a commitment to a single sport that must
be made by a non-Div-I to go big-time in hockey.

What was the most recent school prior to Kent to give up hockey? Was it
Notre Dame when it left the CCHA for a time or perhaps Northern Arizona and
US International?
