A little bit of trivia for all out there in hockey-l land:

Ohio State assistant coach and goaltending great Bill McKenzie is the first
goalie ever credited with a goal in the history of the NHL. It happened
when he was playing for the Colorado Rockies (or maybe they were still the
KC Scouts then). The ref was signalling a delayed penalty, so the opposing
goalie split and the other team accidentally put the puck into their own
net. Because Bill was the last player to play the puck, he was credited
with the goal.

This isn't really the same thing as actually shooting the puck in the net
like Osgood did (and Hextall and Smith, who was the first one to do it).

Just thought you might find this interesting. It's a good trivia question,
anyway!
