Summary:
Last home game for UIC this year. Yet another game where UIC did
not play very well. On the positive side, their passing was much
improved. However, the defense still tends to be out of position
quite a bit. Adam Lord had an off game. He strayed from the net
several times at the beginning of the game, which led to 2 WMU
goals. UIC managed to get a goal with 5 seconds left in the game
to avoid a shutout.
Flame Notes:
Shannon Finn still needs one more goal to tie Mike Dennis for all
time goals by a UIC defensman. Rob Hutson now has 42 points on the
season, his career best. With 34 points, Mark Zdan is 2 points shy
of his 36 point effort last season, also his best. Zdan injured
his shoulder last Friday against Miami and missed Saturday's game.
It was only the first game Zdan has missed this year, and only the
fourth missed game of his career here at UIC. Last night he played
sparingly, mostly on power plays to help protect the shoulder. He
played well but had very little power on shots on goal.
