A colleague and I were looking at U.S. COLLEGE HOCKEY MAGAZINE during lunch
when it struck us -- does USCHM pose the same jinx as SPORTS ILLUSTRATED?

Well, the cover of the February 5 issue carried a photo of Steve Shields
with the following heading:

  CRY OF THE WOLVES'
Steve Shields, college hockey's all-time winningest goalie, leads the
  Michigan juggernaut.

Since February 5, Michigan has gone 2-4-0 and Shields has really fallen off
of his game. The next issue featured Minnesota on the cover and mentioned
their climb to first. What happened? The Gophers fell back into second.
Jinx? You be the judge. :-)

P.S. RPI beware! The Engineers grace the cover of the current issue.
