BU used to switch ends at UNH's Snively Arena too (although they didn't the
last time I saw them play).  The visiting end of Snively's rink has an
balcony overhanging the rink just about all the way out to the goal line.
Jack Parker felt that the rink was darker at that end under the overhang and
was a disadvantage for his team, so he asked for the switch.  I think the
lighting has gotten a little better in the last year or so, so he might not
have a case anymore.
