I agree that the Deuce did go a little further towards believability with
the Levy-Engbloom team, although I think they frothed up for the Wolverines
a bit more than was necessary. It seemed that they knew about the various
forechecking schemes, power-play
unit alignments, and penalty kill particulars. Engbloom's c.v. as an NHL
player lent credibility to his observations, although their emphasis on the
"non-red line offsides" seemed overblown. And what's with the Rhode Island
stuff? Did Mr. Levy figure he could toss all those puny little New England
states in his metaphorical hat, and draw out any name he "chose" as being
basically interchangeable? Yeeks!

It was nice to hear Michigan's band cut down on the "Hail to the (You Know
Whos)". Perhaps they felt that the forum of an eastern hockey area was not
appropriate to lay out the full, midwestern, anti-MSU, in-your-face, higher
number of "Victor" renderings.
Who knows?

I thought that the game televised well. For a UNH fan, downcast as I am,
the comment that Mr. Turco had "maybe his best game in 4 years" at least
took off some of the sting of defeat. The Wolverines look the better for
the final, unless BC finds a way to put
a lot more heat on the net than the 'Cats managed.

Yours in hockey,
