After reading all the recent posts, I feel a few comments are in order. With a
ll the talk of nationals, do not overlokk those conference tourneys, odds are o
ne of the four #1 seeeds will not survive, and (speaking for fans of teams with
hopes and dreams) lower seeds could aquire the automatic bids, therby ruining t
he best laid plans. Also as this type of discusssion happens this time every y
ear, it is worth remembering, that no matter which 12 teams are selected, #13 i
s going to feel robbed. Hopefully the committee will do its best, and that is
all we can ask.
About the ECAC tourney, I believe that there are a few missunderstandings (
and misspellings):) about the way the seedings go. Unless the rules changed th
is year, the teams are reseeded after every round, therefore it is premature to
say SLU and Clarkson would meet in the semis. This assumes that Harvard also
beats RPI ( who proved that the can win on the road tonight at Vermont). As a
result, after Saturday, the highest survivor plays the lowest, and the two midd
le seeds play, so nothing is certain, except that the top seed will always were
their home colors in their games.
