Much of the joy about last night's SLU victory over LSSU was lost for
SLU fans when they learned that the injury to Allie Skelley was more
serious than originally thought. Skelley, a senior defenseman, took a
hit from behind in last night's game and did not return to the game. It
has been reported on SkatingSaints.com that he has a broken vertebra and
underwent surgery today. It is hoped that he will recover completely but
he will be unable to play hockey again. (This info was confirmed on the
radio broadcast of tonight's game.)

The disappointment continued for Saints fans as the Saints skated to a
2-2 with the Lakers.
