FOUR COLLEGIANS MAKE CANADIAN WORLD JUNIOR ROSTER

Call it a one-year spike, call it a profound statement about college hockey, call it "about time," but however you cut it, the selection of four NCAA players to the Canadian World Junior team was as significant as it was surprising when it was announced today.

Dan Bertram (Boston College), Jonathan Toews (North Dakota), Andrew Cogliano (Michigan) and Sasha Pokulok (Cornell) were selected to the final roster from among the 36 players invited to the tryout camp. The only NCAA player that was invited and not selected was Minnesota's Kris Chucko.
