I saw both games last night at the Nutter Center.

Denver looked very good to me. Denver jumped out to a lead on
a short handed goal in the first and dominated for the rest of
the period. Ohio St. did a good job clogging up the middle in
the second period but Denver's skill and passing soon overcame
Ohio State. Denver's power play was impressive. Ohio St. has
a though little freshman forward, #10, don't recall his name, but
he was fun to watch. He has to be close to 5 feet tall and he
looks like he's about 14 years old, but he's fast and skilled
and mixes it up in front of the opponent's goal.

Miami and St. L played a good even first period. I was impressed
with St. L. The second and third period dragged with a lot of
play stoppages. I thought Miami looked better than they did last
year and their power play was much better, but as the game progressed
they seemed to fall back to a lot of dump and chase which doesn't
work well for them.

I guess there were maybe 1000 people there to watch either of the
games. It was sad to see such a poor showing for four good teams
and two exciting games.
