USCHO reports that Vermont head coach Mike Gilligan is announcing his
retirement after 19 years on the job:

As a fan of an ECAC team that is *not* the Catamounts, this scares me a
little, because there's a chance the Vermont administration (new president
and new AD) might do the smart thing and grab Middlebury's Bill Beaney,
assuming he's still interested in a D1 job.

My wife says I pay more attention to hockey than I do to our marriage, which
