MEN'S HOCKEY LOSES TO BOSTON U., 4-1
Four different players score for the 14th-ranked Terriers

Boston University got goals from four different players and junior Sean Fields made 24 saves, including several outstanding stops, to defeat Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), 4-1, in a Division I non-league men's hockey game at the Houston Field House in Troy, N.Y.  With the victory, the Terriers, the 14th-ranked team in the nation, snapped a three-game road losing streak to improve to 9-6-2.  The Engineers fall to
7-9-1.

After a scoreless first period, Boston University got on the board when junior Frantisek Skladany tallied his third of the season from just outside the crease.  Ken Magowan and Ryan Whitney set up Skladany, who scored at the 2:18 mark.  RPI knotted the score at one on a power play goal by freshman Kevin Croxton at 15:24 of the period.  Croxton, Rensselaer's
leading scorer, tallied his sixth of the season from the right side of the goaltender.  Nolan Graham and Danny Eberly earned the assists on the goal.  The Terriers regained the lead just 42 seconds later when Mark Mullen, a junior, notched his fifth.  David Klema and Dan Spang were credited with the assists.

BU scored the only two goals of the third period despite being outshot, 12-4, in the stanza.  Matt Radoslovich, a sophomore, deflected a shot into the back of the net for his second of the season to give the Terriers a 3-1 lead.  Spang and Brian Collins set up the goal, which came at the 10:47 mark.  Justin Maiser's sixth goal of the season, a wrist shot from in front
with 2:30 remaining, completed the scoring.  Jekabs Relihs set up Maiser's tally.

Fields stopped three shots in the first period, nine in the second and 12 in the third to improve to 8-5-2.  Junior Nathan Marsters made 19 saves, including ten in the first period, for RPI.  He is now 3-4-0 on the season.

The Engineers are idle until Dec. 28-29 when they will host the 52nd Annual Rensselaer/HSBC Holiday Tournament.  The first game of the tournament, which is the longest-running college hockey holiday tournament in the nation, will pit Princeton against Wayne St. at 4:30pm.  The Engineers will then take on Merrimack beginning at 7:30pm.  The Terriers will also be in action again on Dec. 28th when they travel to Michigan for the Great Lakes
Invitiational.  BU will play Michigan State in the first round.
