I originally went to discard this message but then I thought for a
moment and last year's (2001 BC vs. UND) championship game came to mind.
I have been a fan of college hockey since 1989 but had never attended a
championship game in that timespan. Last year since the game was in
Albany I decided to drag a friend of mine along up to the Pepsi Arena.
I did not have tickets to go but I thought that I would be able to buy
tickets from someone who had extras. This was a bit risky knowing my
friend would kill me if we drove there and did not get in to see the
game. She is a big NY Rangers fan but had never seen a college hockey
game before. I am a BU fan but I thought that it would be a great game
to see live. We arrived no more than an hour before the game. Of
course as my luck would have it tickets were extremely hard to come by.
It seemed there wasn't anyone selling tickets other than the person who
got arrested for scalping above the legal price. When it seemed
hopeless (probaboly no more than 10 minutes before game time), our
prayers were answered....someone who was working for the arena (I think
she was an usher) saw us searching for tickets and she offered hers to
us. We offered her money but she did not accept it. Not only did we
get in for free but the tickets were center ice only a few rows up. As
you all know it was a great game and my life was spared. Have fun in
MN...
