Brown pinned a 2-0 shutout on the SLU Saints tonight at Appleton Arena in
Canton, NY. The victory allowed Brown to sweep the season series with the
Saints and to post their third consecutive conference win. This was a
particularly huge 2 points for the Bears as they were tied with St. Lawrence
for 8th place in the ECAC standings prior to this evening's contest.

After a scoreless first period, Bear sophomore forward Brent Robinson
scored with :23 seconds left on Brown's first power play of the game at 8:52
of the middle stanza when he lifted the rebound of junior forward Keith
Kirley's shot underneath the SLU crossbar. Assistant captain/junior forward
Tye Korbl was credited with an assist on the tally. Then, a little under
four minutes later, a nifty three-way passing play resulted in an insurance
goal as a freshman forward Brent Robinson to freshman defenseman Scott Ford
to Keith Kirley sequence found Kirley stationed on the right post for the
marker.

During the course of the game, Brown was able to block a total of 16
Saint shots and Bear sophomore goaltender Yann Danis turned in another
sparkling performance to preserve his second shutout of the season. On a
national level, Danis may well have moved into the top-three goaltending
statistical category with this latest stonewalling.

    Power Plays:
        Brown 1/4
        SLU 0/5

    Shots on Goal:
        Brown 8-10-7 = 25
        SLU 8-5-10 = 23

Tomorrow night, Brown takes a quick drive up Route #11 to face the
Clarkson Golden Knights at Cheel Arena in Potsdam. Clarkson had its way
with Harvard this evening, defeating the Crimson, 4-1.
