CCHA PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Chris MacDonald, a freshman center from the
University of Illinois at Chicago, has been selected CCHA Player of the Week
for the week ending February 23, 1992.
 
MacDonald, a 6-5, 200-pound native of Charlottetown, PEI, had three goals and
six assists in the Flames sweep of Notre Dame.  In Friday's 9-3 home win,
MacDonald scored two goals and added one assist.  His first snapped a 1-1 tie
and started a six-goal UIC outburst.  In Saturday's 10-5 win at South Bend,
MacDonald had one goal and five assists.  He finished the weekend with a
plus/minus rating of +4.
 
MacDonald, a 20-year old rookie, took over the team lead in scoring with his
nine-point weekend.  For the season, he has 11 goals and 25 assists for 36
points along with a +/- rating of +9.

CCHA CHAMPIONSHIP TICKET INFORMATION:  The 1992 CCHA Championships will be
held on Saturday and Sunday, March 21st and March 22nd at Joe Louis Arena.

EIGHTH ANNUAL CCHA AWARDS BANQUET:  The Eighth Annual CCHA Awards Banquet will
be held on Friday, March 20th beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Columbus Grand
Ballroom of the Westin Hotel in downtown Detroit.  Tickets are priced at
$20.00 per person and are available by calling (313) 567-7500 for MasterCard,
Visa and Discover.  The Hobey Baker finalists will be announced at the banquet
along with the CCHA Player, Coach and Rookie of the Year award winners.
 
CCHA Game-of-the-Week Selected:  The final regular season CCHA Game-of-the-Week
will feature Ferris State at Bowling Green live on Friday, Mar. 6th with a 7:30
p.m. start time.  PASS will also televise live a first round playoff game on
Saturday, Mar. 14th along with both CCHA Semi-finals (March 21st) live at 4:00
p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and the Championship game (March 22nd) live at 4:00 p.m.
 
CCHA has best non-conference mark:  The CCHA has the best non-league record of
the four conferences.  CCHA teams are 22-6-2 (.767) in non-conference games.
The WCHA has a 17-10-1 (.625) mark, while Hockey East is next with a 51-25-1
(.669) record, with ECAC compiling a 23-31-1 (.427) mark.  The CCHA has a .500
record against both the WCHA and HEA (4-4-1, 1-1-1), respectively.  CCHA teams
are 4-0-0 vs. ECAC opponents and 13-1-0 vs. independents.
 
Remaining regular season schedule:  March 3rd - Bowling Green at Michigan;
March 6-7 - Western Michigan at Lake Superior, Michigan State at Miami,
Ferris State at Bowling Green and Ohio State at UIC.
 
Madeley strong down stretch drive:  Lake Superior netminder Darrin Madeley has
allowed just three goals in the last 185 minutes played (0.97 gaa), while
stopping 64 shots (.955 save percentage).
 
Home ice advantage?:  Through the first 125 league games, home teams have
compiled a 61-42-22 record for a .576 winning percentage.
 
Three CCHA players bring home silver medal:  Jason Woolley (MSU), Todd Brost
(Michigan) and Kevin Dahl (BGSU) were all members of the Canadian silver medal
winning hockey team at the 1992 Winter Olympics.  Brost has been with Team
Canada the past three years, while Dahl and Woolley just joined the team last
summer.  Woolley still might return to MSU to complete his eligibility.
 
Record Crowds!:  Friday night's crowd of 5,831 at the UIC Pavilion was the
largest to witness a college game at the Pavilion.  Saturday night's crowd at
Joe Louis Arena for the Michigan-Michigan State contest had an NCAA regular
season record of 16,643.
 
Miami is Ohio's dominant team:  Miami University compiled a 8-0-2 mark vs.
Ohio teams this season going 3-0-1 against both Bowling Green and Ohio State
while winning twice at Kent.
