A very physical game that did not have many cheap shots until the final period.
But, not nearly as physical as the Bowdoin--Williams game Saturday afternoon.

goals), Chris Ericson 19 (39 minutes, 2 goals).
POWER PLAY: Bowdoin 1 for 6; Williams 1 for 5

This game was expected to be a whole bunch closer than it turned out to be.
Bowdoin was pumped up to gain a measure of revenge for a loss last month
at Williams, and that emotion showed in the first six minutes of the game,
with Bowdoin taking a 3-0 lead quickly.

After this game was decided, play became really rough, especially in the
second period. The incident at 11:40 (in which 30 penalty minutes were
handed out) was really disturbing. Williams' Garrett Naneene went into
Bowdoin goaltender Darren Hersh hard, and both teams reacted to the
predictable retaliation from Bowdoin captain Steve Kashian (who only had
4 penalty minutes coming into the game). After this incident, play cleaned
up, but the officials certainly could have taken tighter control of this
game if they wanted to.

This win was Bowdoin's first over Williams since 1988-89 (0-3-1).
