the arena is going through a massive rebuild.  the ice was last skated
on the afternoon of march 8 just before the cadets left for huntsville
for the cha tournament.
 
as of today, the area is fenced off, the nets are gone. the glass is
gone, the boards are gone and the benches are gone.  they are in the
process of sawing the concrete into about 3-4 foot squares (i'd guess
6 to 8 inches thick) and are pulling them out with fork lifts.  below
that is some black stuff that looks like it might be mud (including
the liquid that keeps the concrete saw blade cool)
