Using this arguement, helmets mouth pieces or other safety equipment should
not be required in any college or professional sport.  "As adults I think
they can
make the best choice for themself." It would probably mean the end of
contact sports as we know them due to law suits and increased insurance
costs.  A good, make that smart, lawyer would cut any signed waivers to
ribbons and costs to colleges would shoot up.  As worst case senerio, it
could mean the end of hockey programs at many schools...ditto for football
and lacrosse.
 
I guess you could take this extreme position and move it into other areas
also.  Adults would not have to wear seatbelts, drive cars that meet certain
safety levels, have speed limits, or need to stop for traffic lights or stop
signs.  "As adults I think they can make the best choice for themself."
