Would someone post who the officiating crew was for the BC/OSU nightcap?
Since I have been accused of ref beating I would like to say that I
thought they did an OK job. From the telecast it looked like there was a
lot of hitting, mostly clean. And to the referees' credit, they didn't
call a hit just because it was a hit, like we see in the ECAC. (It wasn't
Noeth in the night game was it?) I assumed it was a WCHA crew since Noeth
and Co. did the afternoon game.
Assuming it was a WCHA crew, was that a typical effort? They seem to
allow more physical play than Eastern refs.
Also, apparently the ESPN announcers don't understand the rules of college
hockey since they were mystified why a game misconduct was called after
the five minute hitting from behind major. I think Engblom said something
like "he must have said something to the official". Oh well. Beats
nothing.
