While 'tis true the Michigan band repeats a good deal of material
throughout the game, the songs played are of number enough to keep some
attention from the audience. For the most part, the songs _aren't_ at
most hockey games("most" meaning games other than Michigan's). The
"Bullwinkle Theme" is one that I don't know, but it was interesting when
the broadcasting team from Michigan student radio started yelling at the
band for playing the song in the 3rd period of Thursday's game...

Unfortunately, they never do "In Heaven There is no Beer," but from the
other bands(or at pro games), I have yet to hear Wagner, Santana, even
John Williams for that matter(although this has probably changed in the
last 3-4 months).

Some of the music they play--approx. 3 songs/cheers/whatever--does cross
over from the Marching Band, which would explain why non-regulars
recognize it, but the majority is still singular to hockey alone.

There is a difference between a hockey fan & someone who doesn't know
what a few of the calls mean. It took me three seasons to finally
understand all of them.

My criticism of Michigan's Band is that the intermission songs _are_
repeated too much. It was great to hear them do "The Imperial March," for
novelty's sake if nothing else.
