No question we (hockey) get short shrift from US media. Until the game is
played at more schools and with more American players that is the reality of
the situation.There are many places where hockey is infinitely more popular
than basketball. At Army hockey sells out at $7 and basketball at $5 sells
very little and womens b-ball even less.
 
It is inexcusable that some schools- Penn State; Rutgers; Syracuse; don't
have  real teams. Title IX doesn't help but there is women's hockey now and a
rink becomes a real community asset.
 
The NCAA AP story on ND was in the papers here in NJ- but nothing like the
NCAA basketball. WFAN did give the score while the game was in progress.
