With the note about Cincinnati's Riverfront
Coliseum being sold, I thought I would mention this.
(I don't know if this has been mentioned here or not...)

The upcoming 1997 NCAA Women's Final Four will be held
at the Cincinnati Riverfront Coliseum, where the men's
NCAA Frozen Four was held last year. Anyway, some
NCAA officials were in town last month to inspect the
venue. Well, the officials did NOT like what they saw
and told the Coliseum folks to fix things up before the
tournament or else! I never heard what specifics were
held over the heads of the Coliseum folks, but
Cincinnati TV news programs have been showing all
the fixing up going on with painting, extra concession
areas, and extra bathroom facilities.
I wonder if they will get rid of the ugly burnt-orange seats
by then? Tune in and find out.

Apparently no such inspection or concern was shown
before the men's hockey tournament last year. By the
way, the sad state of the Coliseum was the source of
much amusement to three or four Michigan St fans who
sat behind me at Riverfront last year. Their hilarious
comments and wisecracks were great entertainment
during the breaks.
