I have to compliment Cornell for their crowd support. As one Cornell fan
attested to, the crowds use of possibly crude obnoxious behavior does keep the
fans and the team into the game. I am not sure on the bands participation in
such cheers, but from personal exper. I know the Clarkson Band has restrictions
put upon it by our University. We are not allowed to use four letter words, also
including suck. Lets be honest though, we don't discourage our fans from using
such language as long as the puck is in motion. However if the puck is not in
motion either the entire band will play, or I (drummer) will start some sort of
cheer to drwon out the fans. Its not something I like to do, but am under
instruction from our arena director and Athletic director that this is to be
commonplace at Clarkson.
Cornell fans earn the right of bearing the most organized groups of fans in
the
the ECAC. With my experiences I must compliment the LSSU fans, as well as the
skating cheerleaders with fans in MInnesota, by the way does anyone else have
skating cheerleaders? And if anyone wants ideas how to handle them ie.
make fun of them I have a few techniques we used.
