It's official, USA TODAY page just announced that UIC has in fact
discontinued their hockey program, effective immediately.
 
The quote on the page relates the death of the program to the "six-figure
losses" that got the attention of the administration.
 
This is certainly a sad day for college hockey..  I'm sure people closer to
this will have more to day.
