As the title may indicate. We, MTU, beat Cornell in the runner-up game
leaving us number three. I don't have the run down, but the missing players
were noticed tonight on the ice. Andre Savage had three points if I heard
right in the 7-3 defeat of the "Big Red" at the Joe.

I still don't know why the seven players were not allowed to skate on
Thursday night, and didn't ask when I talked to the coach while he
ate lunch on Friday. Apparently he felt that the sitting were needed,
and deserved, and believed that the seven players learned about the
importance of their actions. Both as skaters and as a team.

Records were broken and tied this weekend at the Joe.
I don't have my GLI program with me, so be nice if I missed.

Most GLI Championships: 8 - MTU and Michigan
Longest Championship run: 7 - Michigan
Largest Margin of victory: 13 - Michigan
Most goals in two games: 18 - Michigan (was 16 - MTU)

Other goofy items:

Most times a single cheer played: MSU pep band
Most original chant: Chew Juicy Fruit, Big Red Sucks
(no flames please, I didn't start it. Even cheered
for Big Red when playing MSU)
Least original chant: Lets go Tech (or) Lets go Blue (or) Lets go State
Most timely chant: Just doesn't Matter
(after Cornell's third goal against MTU, making
                        the scre 7-3)

Overall, the GLI was a winner. There was some great hockey played
(with one exception), and got to see old friends as well as make some
new ones. And I did find someone for the Michigan vs. MSU tickets. :)
