Part of it may be just that. When I was a freshman, BU had not made it to the
Final 4 in 11 years. As a matter of fact, they had only made it to the tourney
twice during those 11 years, getting knocked out in the first round both times.
('84 and '86)

After all that time, when BU finally made it to not only the playoffs, but also
the Final 4 in '90, the crowds were going crazy. To then be so loaded in '91,
the crowds were even crazier. Finally, having made it to the Final 4 in three
of the last four years (*hardly* being "jinxed"), it has now become expected.

What if this year's team does not make it? My freshman year, just to make it
to the tourney would have been euphoria, yet this team would be considered a
failure.

My advice to the BU fans out there. Enjoy this high point in the cycle while
you can. Go to the playoffs with the team and enjoy the experience. If others
won't yell, yell yourself. That's what I do. Someday, and it may not be that
far into the future, you may be wondering why the team can never make it to the
tourney. Providence ('85), BC (late '80's), Northeastern ('88), Maine (late
80's and early 90's) have all had their day and have all since fallen.
Appreciate what we have while we have it because if we don't, we just might
miss it!
