Just got off the phone with my father. (I'm at grad school in Maryland)
He tells me yet another incident has occured at Maine. :-( !!!!
From what he says (from Dale Duff WZON radio sports show) five Umaine
grad students who are also althletes have just been found in voilation of
NC$$ rules. It was found Patrice Tardif of Maine's hockey team was only
taking six credit hours instead of the required eight. Patrice is
ineligible.
I'm not sure who the other athletes are and what other sports are involved.
The NC$$ compliance officer has been fired (Woody Carvel sp?) and the
Maine athletic director suspended for a week.
Patrice is turning pro (St.Louis Blues) tomorrow.
What questions remain regarding every game Patrice played in and what
more foreits Maine will have to take I don't know. (I think it almost
the whole season??)

Sorry about the lack of details of this posting.... Just got the news
flash and wanted to get it to the list as soon as possible. I'm sorry
for any inaccuracy on my part. This is the information as I have been
told it.

Sarah.
