Let's not forget that there are a large number of people who have fought
for and had friends die for that flag and that anthem.  The anthem may be
as close to sacred as a secular symbol can get.  Before you ask someone to
lighten up, walk a mile in their shoes.  If your free speech will cause
someone pain, maybe you should reexamine what you plan to say.
 
This is not the forum to debate the merits of the anthem, so this will
be my last statement on the subject.  Some people may consider emphasis
in the anthem abuse, some may not.  For some people it is beyond simple
"patriotism."

out other people's feelings.
