As Keith posted, the results from Monday night's play:

Miami of Ohio 3
Boston University 4

Boston College 3
Wisconsin 10

Notes: I just saw the end of the Miami/Boston game. A 3-3 tie was
broken late in the game and the Terriers held on to win it.

The Badgers blitzed BC with two goals in the first :37 of the game,
added a cheapie near the end of the period, scored four in the
second, including two in the *last* minute of the period. The score
had gone to 9-0 before BC scored it's first tally in the third.

And now for Tuesday's results...

Consolation game:
Boston College 3
Miami of Ohio 6

Championship game:
Wisconsin 3
Boston University 6

Notes: I had to miss the entire consolation game, but I was told that
all three of BC's goals came in the final period again. A Miami player
(sorry, don't know who) scored a hat-trick and got the Tourney MVP
award.

In the Championship game, the Badgers came out very tentative and BU
was definitely fired up. The only reason that the score was even at
1-1 after the first was because BU couldn't seem to stay out of the
penalty box. The score was even at 2-2 in the second when a short-
hander by BU followed later by a power-play goal seemed to drain what
little life the Badgers had shown. A stupid penalty by Jason Zent for
shooting the puck after the whistle to end the second period put the
Badgers in a hole to start the third. Later, another short-handed BU
goal drove the final nail in the coffin. The teams traded goals to
close out the scoring.

Congrats to the Terriers. They out-played Wisconsin consistently
en route to handing the Badgers their first-ever loss in a Showdown
game and earned the Tourney Championship in fine style.

As one friend said, if the Badgers play during the rest of the season
like they did tonight, the only way they'll be at the Bradley Center
on April 1st is in the stands watching.
