Got a phone call from a rather irate Carol White and Erik Biever in minn
tonight.  Seems with 15 min to go in the first game, their sports network
cut away for a Timber wolves pregame show!  so here's the results of the
 GLI tonight.
 
 
MTU hung on to take Michigan to the wire tonight mainly due to the goaltending
of Jamie Ram.  MTU was outshot 41-11 and lost 4-2 to Michigan. (last was an ope
n net goal)
 
In the second game just finished  Northern defeated MSU 4-1 on the strenght of
 2 goals scored on a five min major for checking from behind by MSU's Smolinski
 northern lead 1-0 going into the 3rd, increased it to 2-0 before MSu cut the
 lead in half, but it was all over when the Major occured.
 
 Tomorrow's final has Michigan vs Northern (go Northern!)   Consolation  MTU
     vs MSU

Also in Gavle, Sweeden tonight team Canada defeated Team USA 3-0 in the opening
game of the World Juniors.   I heard that team USA (from Liam Garveys father)
 had won the pre championship tournament played in finland, but dont have any
 details.....anybody else???  Nothing in the paper here today.
