Sorry bout the delay, had a Christmas party after the game last night. got to
 bed around 3 am! ;-)

Quoting Steve Brownlee in the Daily Mining Gazette:

"There were major penalties for kicking and for checking
from behind ....." "There was a visibly upset DU coach
Frank Serratore after the game, several injuries, and a paper
cup full of pop that almost hit referee Mike Tok during a
stoppage of play." (this is second time in 2 games that a ref
was the object of things thrown from the stands, and personally
its pissing me off, I look to see a camera pointed in the direction
of where they came from at tonights game)

"it was all capped off by a shoving match between 10 players at the
             end of the game"

As you probably gathered by now it wasn't a pretty sight last night, but it was
our first win inquite a while, and should make for an interesting game tonight.

Interesting officiating last night also MTU's ferguson got cross checked to
the ice from behind by a Denver player, proceeded to kick him, resulting in
the major for Denver. Tok & Goddard then called penalties on MTU at intervals,
 nullifying the 5 min major.

In the 3rd period MTU received a 5 min major for checking from behind, after
which Tok & Goddard called minors on denver at intervals nullifying their
major power play! Both coaches (and at least one fan) were visibly upset
with Tok and Goddard all night.

Tech took an early 1-0 lead after 1, built it to 3-0 in the second before
Denver scored at 13:24 to make it a 2 goal margin, but MTU's John Young
scored on a feed from Ferguson just 14 seconds later to restore the 3 goal
lead going into the 3rd. Denver cut the lead to 4-3 at the 13:27 mark,
of the 3rd but it was all MTU after that as the Huskies scored 3 times
in 3 min-16 seconds to capp the 7-3 victory.

Schoen made 9 8 7 - 24 saves for denver
Ram made 6 9 13 - 28 saves for MTU

penalities denver 8-27 MTU 11-25

Power plays denver 2 of 11 MTU 1 of 5

Attendance 2,345 not bad for the day the students left for Christmas break

Carol -- Your Welcome! ;-) Bob
