CC played tough against the leading WCHA team sharingthe lead back and forth
Geronazzo was the catalyst of the Tigers with two goals that got then back
into the game after being down 4-2. Kent Fearns (who was sick all day with 102
fever) scored the winning OT goal one minute into OT. Paul Frank in goal for
the Tigers only let in one cheesy goal and had 37 saves. Butler for MD had 39
saves and played well too but the Tigers were too persistent.

This game had the makings of another OT but the third period come back did
not materialize for the Tigers. The Bulldogs went on a frenzy in the third
scoring 5 goals. The referees letting the Bulldogs pretty much do anything
they wanted. Paul Frank in goal for the Tigers with 34 saves and in goal
for MD was Butler with 34 (Frank had 46 saves). Geronazzo instead of scoring
was tripped, hacked, and roughed all night. He not being one to take that
found himself with his gloves off several times but no real fighting. One
MD player who was kicked off the ice for the second period tried to attack
a Tiger fan. This pretty much characterized the Bulldog team looking rather
like Bulldogs. Their ability (skill on the ice) was sometimes over shadowed
by their reaction to the crowd (which was scarce). Even the captain was talking
as he was the last to leave the ice and made the whole team look rather
stupid to say the least. MD was efficeint and productive on the ice but
looked like neanderthals as soon as they stepped off the ice. I guess
with the academic standards being greater for CC players we somehow weed out
the idiots and unfortunetly some very good players.
