Penn State joining the Big 10 should have no effect whatsoever on their
hockey program.  Hockey has not been a Big 10 sport for at least 25
years.
 
Some of the Big 10 schools are in the CCHA, others are in the WCHA, and
others have club teams (e.g. Iowa, Illinois).
 
I don't think there is any interest in the Big 10 to add hockey to the
Big 10 roster.  Most schools are happy with their current arrangement
and have established some nice rivalries with non-Big 10 schools.
